Starting from the year 1997, Upakar has awarded scholarships in 28 states to 165 students across the country. To date, the total amount awarded in scholarships is $600,000. Along with the scholarships, mentoring students has been an integral part of the foundation. Through the received mentoring, students were guided in their education and carrier. 

 

Eligibility Criteria:

• The candidate or anyone parent should have been born in India. 
• The candidate must be a green holder (US Permanent Resident) or US Citizen.
• The candidate should get enrolled for a full-time course of 4 years in an accredited, non-profit university or 2 years of community college during the scholarship tenure. 
• The candidate should have the Family Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of the previous year on the IRS form 1040 with a value of less than $90,000. 
• Candidate must be pursuing High School Graduation Senior living in the USA. The candidate’s GPA should be 3.6 or above on a scale of 4.0

 

The benefit under the Scholarship:

On getting selected for the Upakar Scholarship, candidates will receive $2000 for 4 years if and only if the candidate can maintain the GPA of 3.3 on a scale of 4.0
