About College

Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University), Mullana, is a deemed university at Mullana near Ambala in the state of Haryana, India. It was founded in 1993 in the name of Maharishi Markandeshwar Ji.

Envisioned with the aim of 'Shaping Future', Maharishi Markandeshwar University Trust (erstwhile reputed Maharishi Markandeshwar Education Trust), pioneered the educational system by establishing Maharishi Markandeshwar University at Sadopur-Ambala which was initially started as MM Group of Institutions in 2010 with the courses in the areas of Engineering & Technology and Business Management. Created under the provisions of the Haryana Private Universities Act, 2006, and having been legislated under Haryana Govt. Act No. 29 of 2010, Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Sadopur-Ambala constitutes MM Group of Institutions, MM School of Architecture and MM School of Pharmacy. The MM University Sadopur-Ambala has also been recognized by the UGC for awarding degrees under Section 22 of the UGC Act, 1956. The University is currently offering courses of B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Com (Hons.), BBA, BCA, M.Tech, MBA, M.Sc. (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics), MA English, B. Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, B. Sc Design, BA (Journalism and Mass Communication), B.Sc. Non Medical, M.Arch., Bachelor of Performing Arts, PG Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication and Ph.D. More courses in the areas of health sciences with emphasis on research in emerging areas will be undertaken in the coming sessions. The University encompasses research oriented faculty from Ivy league colleges of the country, well equipped labs and workshops; library stacked with latest books, national and international journals; e-resources with paradigm infrastructure; which provide an eventual centre of excellence for professional education. The University has fervently put sprawling efforts in keeping pace with the changing trends in education system from all the dimensions. Striving to offer quality education to the society, University marches ahead and aspires to inculcate global competency as well. Other institutions established by the Trust include a Deemed University at Mullana in Ambala, MM International Schools at Sadopur, Rambha and Mullana, MM School of Nursing and Mid-Wifery at Mullana and yet another State Private University at Solan in Himachal Pradesh with a constituent Institutions of Medical Course, which has the privilege of being first Medical Institute in private sector in HP. The Trust has also the privilege of establishing the first Engineering College, first Medical College and first Deemed to be University under private sector in Haryana.

The campus includes 14 hostels and six residential blocks. It has a sports complex with seven gyms, a swimming pool and one game arena. The campus has two shopping centers with four banks, a post office, and various eating shops. Also on campus there is an auditorium with seating capacity of about 1500.

Library

Central Library, Institution Libraries and Departmental Libraries consisting collection of more than 2 lac Books, CDs, Videos, Theses, Standards, Back Volumes, a digital repository of question papers, 9500 print, E-Journals and memberships of INFLIBNET, DELNET, NPTEL. The central library publishes a peer-reviewed quarterly journal “International Journal of Information Dissemination and Technology” since 2011 and provides a seating capacity for more than 1500 readers.

Hostel

13 hostels are available with the options of AC rooms and facilities like attached washrooms, storage, indoor and outdoor games, Internet connectivity through Wi-Fi system and fiber optics, Hygienic mess with wholesome vegetarian & non-vegetarian meals (Non-Vegetarian meal for International Students only) Gymnasium and 24x7 Medical facilities.

Sports Complex

• MMU in association with the renowned cricketer Mr. Yuvraj Singh has established “Yuvraj Singh Center Of Excellence” cricket academies at MMU, Mullana Campus and MMU Sadopur Ambala Campus with the-state-of-the-art infrastructure. Apart from YSCE, MMU is an active member of Association of Indian Universities and different sports associations.

Scholarships

Under this scheme, a loan of up to 4 lakh rupees should be provided by the state government to the poor 12th pass students of Bihar state for getting higher education 

There are many scholarships which are launched by the government of Bihar to implement good education system and to provide different type of benefits to all of the students who belong to a backward category or backward caste or economical backward caste in India. The scholarship which will be provided by the government of Bihar will help many of the students to gain good employment and education opportunities and they will be able to complete the education without any financial burden.
