The SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) provides scholarships, fee waiver programmes, and other benefits to deserving and talented students of India. Such programmes greatly benefit a large number of students especially those who are unable to study in the prestigious institution due to lack of funds. The scholarship programme follows an open, merit-based application process, given on first-come first-served basis. The scholarships offer waiver only in the tuition fee for the first year and for subsequent years the waiver depends on the academic performance of the student. These scholarship schemes are not applicable for MBBS, BDS, all PG Medicine and UG & PG Allied Health Science Programs.

The candidates applying for the scholarships should have passed the qualifying examination in the first attempt through a regular mode of study and in the current year of admission.
Categories of Scholarships:
- Founder’s Scholarship: Started in 2010, it is awarded to students who have attained:
- Top 100 ranks in SRMJEEE (Undergraduate)
- Top 10,000 ranks in IIT JEE Mains.
- State toppers of the respective states froma recognised board
- Distric toppers of Tamil Nadu
- Sports persons representing at any Univeristy/Distric/Zone/State/National or International level
